I second the motion. EzGuitar would be cool although I don't know how easy a good guitar VSTi can be
I taught him all he knows :disco:

I love both EZBass and Ample, a different kinda thing but that Ample Upright Bass is fantastic.

Speaking only as a bass player, the Patituchi bass in Trillian still responds and sounds more like an upright bass than anything else out there. The Amplebass is really good but it's a second choice for me.

I've heard demos that are passable too. I would still rather use a real bass if I can help it, most times. They're still useful for things, don't get me wrong. It's just more time consuming for me to get under the hood of a library utilizing it to it's best abilities when that bassline could have been laid down already.

It's funny you're saying it this way because it's what I've been silently feeling. You do really have to already play keyboards and bass with plenty of on hand production and technical knowledge to get the most out of these libraries and plugins to warrant being too lazy to pick up your bass guitar. LOL I'm just kidding, I don't want to say it like that because they have their purpose & use.

I actually had EZBass in mind when saying they leave a lot to be desired in terms of fluid playing. As simple as I'd want the software to be I still agree that I'd rather it be deeper with a bigger learning curve that way you get a more detailed result in the end. It does also depend on how a company handles their product so I could agree with that too.
These libraries and software have their use for me too but only to write a demo that I will rewrite later and even then most the time I will go right into my project and just start writing it. Sometimes it's good to have them as reference tracks to get closer to a certain tone and side by side comparisons. Only talking about projects that call for real instruments like rock/metal.

No matter what you still have to write your midi parts emulating real instruments in the most realistic fashion that way they aren't lagging behind the real instrument and not trying to get ahead of it either by playing something that's impossible to play by a real human which has 2 hands and doesn't want to bring his feet into this if he's just playing a bass guitar. hahaha

I should have contributed to listing some products since OP already stated that playing bass is mostly off the table and they want a list of plugins instead.

Ample Bass P, Ample Bass U
    EZ Bass, Modo Bass
    Kraken Hybrid, Loki Bass
UJAM VB - Dandy, Mellow, Rowdy, Royal

Not Baby Bass or Waves Ass fingers.

Only the first hand full are from me the rest are other suggestions some of them I didn't even know about, so it's everyone's list. I tried adding yours also but I guess there is a limit as to how many I can add to the poll but thanks for the suggestions I will check them out.
