    Does it still spike once you turn off the network adapter or does it stop?

    ill try, but i think reinstalling is windows is due

    so far it keeps working better after a couple restarts,



    looks like i need to get a mac or hackintosh

    in my opinion, 4GHz clocked 6-core i7 is right now best price/performance pick for audio workflow,
    more cores make sense at offline batch and heavy jobs, such as complex rendering, which just audio isn't ;)

    youa re dealing with many calculations per second you need enough "power" and stability to cover what you need to do think of it as needing double of the power and stability your first expect to need because your system is running much in the background and foreground.
