Hey everybody! I'm looking for a 1/3 octave filter (something a la Brüel & Kjær) and a Mel-filterbank - or something similar - in VST format. I've searched the web up and down, and can't seem to find anything Eventide's EQUivocate was the closest I think...

Waves GEQ is a 1/3 octave filter. 30 bands.

 

I wouldn't call GEQ a filter...

 

It's not exactly what you're asking, sorry about that, but personally I get a lot of mileage out of Audio Damage's 907A and 914 Fixed Frequency Filter plugins. The bands are wider and they're pretty coloring (by design), but they sound oh so nice. The attenuation goes from -0dB to -64dB so you can almost kill a frequency band if you wish.

AD is graciously giving them (and other legacy stuff of theirs) for free so it can't hurt to try, right?

Guitar Rig has a filterbank module that can do similar things as well, with adjustable bandwidth and separation.
