Agreed, good wisdom. I usually fresh install every 6 mo. then image with a decent backup app, it simplifies problems. Gotta virus/non boot...
Just a suggestion, 7zip, rar etc. the desired directory then copy the compressed file to your drive & extract. Good luck, peace.
Image the drive first, use the image to rescue the files, plan on large drive space.
Separate names with a comma.
