    Well I have now used the Profire 2626 and it hasn't failed yet (at least not in a big way) BUT the converters are not very good and the mic pre's...

    Well... If you were only using a mac I would tell you to go with the Apogee Duet, the converters and mic pre's are amazing... But the RME Fireface...

    Essential basic equipment

    In my mind there are few "bad" plugins... It just depends on how you use them :) I have the Waves diamond bundle and other high end plugin packs...
