Check for setting "release driver in background" or something like that. It's under the latency values at the studio setup window
What I meant was just to run plugins from external hard drive, not OS. That's not wise due to driver and latency issues
V collection should be fine on external hard drive. I had it installed few years back. I don't think they changed it, so it wouldn't be possible
