If you want to tag existing material, I can't see what is easier than Picard. If you talk about tagging your own songs, Picard isn't what you need.
I use Musicbrainz Picard. It is opensource and you find nearly anything on it. Even my youth metal band on jamendo is referenced in it lol....
As sad as it sounds, I guess the only way not to be worried is to buy stuff. Once bought, nothing prevents you from using warez versions anyway....
