    whats the real reason of putting a compressor on the master track?

    I can't recommend this for beginners. Every additional sound will change all other sounds too. This can be veery tricky.

    when people say Louder Mix do they mean mastering basically?

    Could be mix or combined mix/master. In the production stage it's usually the mix, in the mastering stage or when talking about released tracks...
