what I use (and does work well) is ICY BOX IB-245-C31-B enclosure with 1TB Samsung 860 Pro sata SSD :chilling:
those cheap ones are USB 3.0 which caps the performance at around 600MB/s (which is 5Gbit USB 3.0 limit) - and fast thunderbolt seems too pricy...
check stores for Samsung T5 deals - it will give that "only" 500MB/s speeds but price is often way lower than T7 :chilling:
