I'm presuming you have added your instrument file or multi file from the libraries tab? and your library location is not set to the correct path

If your hard drive space is less than 10% then its a good chance that's the problem @ Angie I have (and use) an old Dell D610 2Gb ram works well...

I don't think the extra ram will help with the drop out, sounds like a process hogging the cpu, have you tried tweaking with "God Mode" ?
