I think BlueCat Patchwork can do exactly that. Of course you have to set up your mixer chain in patchwork first.
I also have distorted sound with the 32 bit plugin in FL. And if I don't use a sample rate of 44100 a lot of patches sound messed up.

I think it's a neat idea cause it forces you to spend some time with the synth.
Don't they force you to login in order to use it? Any piece of software that forces me to log into an account is basically useless for me.
Actually, it makes quite a big difference in VST synths, too. Especially those that don't have built-in oversampling.
I've recently discovered Black Ice 1.5mm picks. They're a nice alternative if you're looking for a Jazz III feel but with a softer attack.
Again, it's not you because they're downloading from their servers you're just feeding them the links.
If you can afford a mac you should be able to afford plugins.
