Well, 9652 is a pro piece of gear, and it's made to hook up the converter of your choice. Cheap standalone converters? unfortunatlly, never heard...
I used my 9632 card with gygabyte P67A board which also desn't have native PCI but bridged...everything worked beautifully.

Nope. You can upgrade to 8.5 right after the purchase for free (grace period), and with that your EDU license is gone, only full stays....
