well in cubase you use ASIO while when you playback the wav/mp3 you probably not use ASIO. i'm saying that because ASIO drivers tend to be much...

i dont know whats wrong with your setup. my win7 64bit works great and stable as hell. ..i dont use asio4all btw. since i have a rme.. ..sorry.....
64bit os is a must. you can use 32bit AND 64bit within. with 32bit you stucked to install only well.. 32bit stuff (daw)! :D
