Yep tried again here, opened testx02free in 1.5.4.1.7 and have the simple kick snare pattern on the 808 playing with bit crusher and decimator on...
You can use HxD to compare those files and the differences are minimal, they don't look like they should trigger an incompatibility... weird in...
