to me this sounds like its going nowhere and as Kinghtsurfer said the distortion is a bit too much
try to make the build up more...
Great one the only thing i can say is make the snare sit better in the mix. to me it sounds isolated i don't know why, mabe add a bit of reverb ?...
for a starter no DAW is ever going to inspire you, maybe a new Vst with some exciting sounds can do more of that.
anyway what i'm trying to say is...
Good work especially if it's your sound design. many sounds are great. the first one reminded me of the music from the Tv series Dark

that ending though is unexpected maybe an accented snare on the off...
