"This is an acoustic instrument with no electricity or anything... Natural source coded materials which are membrane, coiled spring and string working together. Maybe we can say that this is a new bridge system between string and resonant body. But generally this is a new design and emit obviously natural vibrations and gives new playing abilities."

...not sure if kidding or not....

I think what is so neat about the sound is that there IS NO PROCESSING going on. All those echoes are just apart of the acoustic properties of the giant strings and resonators!

I can see this in a bunch of film scores soon!

  5. It is a long reverb thingamajig with a resonant membrane. Cool idea and neat sound. I bet that different tensions on the spring create different atmospheric verbs. What's even cooler is the space this is recorded in. I wanna live there.

Yes, there is no effect because when he walk at 0:20, you hear his feet very dry
The main "effect" is from a gigantic spring, creating a gigantic spring verb
    Amazing !

    Exciting!
And it sounds a bit like the spring reverb from my old yamaha organ when I kicked the box, sampled and pitched down

If one combined the above with the "Helmholtz Synthesizer" and a few more tricks maybe, who knows if one could build an electromechanical, metal-wooden monster synth?

Oh if I only had more time in life. Or multiple lives to try out different things simultaneously.
But wait, here's a great community!
    Anyone interested?

I know the Industrial guys must look like Artics pic right about now, I know I do.

I would love for a developer to physically model this so that everyone can have access to this marvelous invention. Brilliant! So much potential. :grooves:

Great invention, great video. Another example of why this place is so amazing. We really get to experience the best the web and the world has to offer. Thanks sideshowbob, you rock. I have a 48 hour with your name on it if you're interested. :mates:

This one has a closer look.

Instrument's and artist's name are in Turkish. Also uploader of the video. So, my best guess is north of Turkey, because I think the sea is probably Black Sea.
