Hi Audiosexers

My near friend in Germany just bought FF Pro-Q 2 EDU - (in fact just a regular installer) + (I need OS X + AAX64). He tells me that it just comes with a large s/n for opening and nothing else, and furthermore he officially is allowed to have different copies on diff. machines, as long as it´s his own machines only.

I asked him to send me a copy of the s/n, because i believe that if I block FF in my firewall, my machine won´t reveal it.

BUT he´s concerned if FF may be called something else in its protection system, so that it´s still not blocked and we´ll get "busted"

None of us knows much about these issues, so I told him that I would check out with the good guys here on AudioSex

So please tell us, - should we be safe just by firewalling FF out, if we share his s/n?

Thanks for replying, but we both use Pro Tools 11 on Mac, so it has to be OS X and AAX64

 

FabFilter is using license keys!
"Can I use my FabFilter plug-ins on multiple computers using just one license key?"
FabFilter license keys are personal and contain your name.

I think blocking the FF from calling home should be enough!
OR if you have some experience with HEX-Editors just take the AAX Plug-In,
extract its resources > MacOS > Binary file and look for all www or http addresses
and patch/overwrite them with number 20 = empty space.
The Plug-In will never attempt to call home again!
