Suggest me some nice Waves plugins for mixing:

    1. Drums (programmed through EzDrummer2)
    2. Guitars (Guitar Rig, Amplitube, etc) (AC30 kinda tone)
    3. Bass (Guitar Rig)
    4. Acoustic Guitars (recorded through a condenser mic)
    5. Pads (Omnisphere)
    6. Vocals
    7. Backing Vocals

    Maserati VX1 for vocals.

Bass...Sometimes Maxxbass can beef things up in the right frequency.

Others would know the others better than I.

Mesareti GRP (there are drums presets) and DRM for drums.

For guitars there are a few plug-ins actually.

If you wish i can share some of my mixer presets with you

    @ Mix_to_Master,

As you use several Instruments and Vocals, and above all, because I don't know if you want to particularly 'process' each element separately or the 'whole' Project with some Waves Plugins, despite that your request is related toward : 'Mixing a Pop-Rock Song', here you have my Collection of 'Waves' Presets done by several highly acclaimed Sound Engineers/Producers/Musicians,...

There's several Presets for most of the Waves Plugins (but not all !), nevertheless these will certainly give you very good starting points for your Project(s).
In some cases, maybe only a few adjustments on the provided Settings will greatly help you with your Audio Tracks, Full Song(s),...

I love the API 2500, great on busses and master (in feedback mode).
And the other of the API bundle too.
I find a couple of oldies still good, often better than the latest, R-Bass i.e.
Other than these, I always feel less need to use Waves, the alternative are many, and often better.
SSL G-Comp emu -> The Glue
    Multiband C6 -> Good but I prefer FF Pro-MB
    L3 -> FabFilter Pro-L or Voxengo Elephant

It always depends on the mix. My most common ones are Shepps for Buss Eq, Aphex for vox sends. The C6 is my Multiband Comp for Mastering. I love the H-Delay for nice slap qualities. Depending on the sound of the mix I've created, if it lacks a certain sparkle, I'll put the Kramer Tape or J37 on my Main Buss.

    Shepps
    Aphex Aural
    C6
    H-Delay
    Kramer Tape, J37.

    These are great too!

    Kramer Pie Comp.
SSL Channel Strip, SSL Buss Comp
    Maserati Reverb,
    Center Plugin,
    REDD
    Cla2a, la3a, 1176,
    Debreather is really good too.
    NLS has great Console Emulation
Real ADT is AWESOME!!!! The effect that you can get for vocals is sweet!

Funny you speak about Pro-L or Elephant as best brickwall limiters, it is what i spend my time writting all over the net
L3, Slate and most others distort like hell and mess transients to me.

And i love API2500 too. My fav Waves plugin, with Maxxbass (nothing can replace it). Amazing on drums, but not only.
SSL channels are nice to go "fast and furious". But can be replaced by more "modern" solution like Izotope Alloy if you don't mind several setting pages

Everything else is not so impressive to me, compared to Softube and such good plugs.

We are on the same wavelenght
I can't find anything comparable to Pro-L and Elephant.
I use them both, depending on which one sound better in the particular case.

I forgot the SSL Channel Strip (the black one) in the Waves bundle cause it's a long time I don't use it,
it can get a very nice saturation too if you push hard the output gain (I use after it Sonalksis free-g to turn volume down, to avoid clipping).

    @remix

If you like agressive, snappy compressors on vocals, try Molot (freeware)
    https://vladgsound.wordpress.com/plugins/molot/
ppl reported nice results on vocals.

For "lush" vocals (and electric bass), i like softube CL1B.
And for "agressive" vocals (rock, metal...), softube FET pushed hard can do the trick to compress AND saturate at the same time. May be too saturated for rap anyway :dunno:

And if you like Elephant, like copylefter and me, try Fabfilter Pro-L too. You will be amazed how it can be better (sometimes) than Elephant :mates:
Elephant tend to bring up some harmonics (especially low mids) "beefing up" signal, Pro-L is more "neutral". If it means anything

I like the Scheps 73 Stereo 'overheads' setting on the drums.
    Amplitube for bass (Ampeg)
CLA for vocals (or Nektar), also use the Vocal Rider and DeEsser.
Soundtoys Echoboy on the guitars and keyboard
    re-verb on most things

SSL compressor, Tape plugin and Ozone on the master bus.

Basically try everything and experiment

I prefer to keep it simple. For drums (I use NI drum lab) I like to stem the drum pieces and bus them to parallel compression tracks. On the Drum bus I put a CLA 2A, on each of the drum tracks I put the CLA 3A (and turn the analog off). I use a send for the drum bus reverb (not waves). This is a bit processor intensive but it sounds better than using a a multiband compressor. I prefer to use the stock EQ from my DAW since I don't do much EQ on drums other than rolling off or slightly enhancing frequencies to make sure each part is set in it's own place instead of clashing. I use almost entirely waves plugins on vocals. Vocal rider is a must. De-esser, and De-breath are so good it makes me cry.
