    Hey guys,
Just wondering if any of you have any suggestions for a workstation or desk for my home setup. I only do the recording/mixing thing for a hobby, although I have mixed a couple ep's for a band, those were paid jobs, but that's been a little while. I mostly write/record/mix my own music in my spare time.........

My setup consists of: M-Audio BX8 & SP5B monitors, a desktop pc, external USB soundcard, & a small midi keyboard controller. I currently have it set up on a corner desk (I know, this is bad, that's why I'm looking for another desk......), but the way I have it is less than ideal........Doesn't neccesarily have to be a desk, maybe a L-shaped table with a keyboard tray that I could put another shelf on to have my monitors at ear level.......

I already know about the workstation at Musician's Friend & American Musical Supply, kinda looking for something similar, but maybe not as expensive.....if I'm wasting my time (going for less $$$$), please let me know......thanks in advance!

    Ikea Jerker (first version).
Great name, great desk, great price (used).

Then of course you have the Zaor, Thon and Studiorta stations, but they cost a bit more. You can even make your own custom table (mdf, legs, etc) and add additional shelves and smaller racks ontop (or under, or exactly how you want it). I built one for the studio I used to work at. Worked out great.

here is some more, and inspiration for your own creativity:

agreed, hit the homedepot (or whatever) and get to building!

if you do it yourself you will get exactly what you want

RTA Creation Station is pretty much standard equipment for the home studio, only 200 bucks and has wheels and built in racks, space for monitors and computer monitor.

    I love my Quiklok stand!

    It's similar to this:
    http://www.quiklok.com/catalog/?p=productsMore&iProduct=467&sName=Z-250-BK-GR
only with speaker extensions out to the left and right of the top shelf!
You can pretty much build it up to your own spec.. which is very cool!

Sturdy as hell and does not make a noise or move in any way!

It's reasonably priced for being so well made!

I don't care who you are... Or how much gear you have.. This is all you need!!

    Hope this helps...
