Why has someone made another delay plugin that's exactly like all other delay plugins? Does it do anything new?

why do you complain about it? every dev has to right to code what he thinks is right.

I don't complain, I'm just pointing out that it's nothing new. People keep bringing out the same plugin over and over again, I don't see why. Some release a compressor, when there's already 10000 compressors on the market. Some bring out an eq etc.

Unless it's something genuinely new - like Cytomic's new filter plugin the Drop, using circuit simulation. Then it's most welcome as it's an improvement over older models.

So, I ask again, what does this delay do that other's don't? I have Fabfilter's awesome delay Timeless 2, which has a great interface and awesome modulation. I have my DAWs delays, I have some of the Waves ones etc. Will this do anything they can't?

If a developer can't handle legitimate questions like this, then that's their problem. It's a crowded market and you need to make your product stand out to succeed.

I generally do so much on my delay send, both before the actual delay and after, that I just like the stock plugin, I just need something to repeat without me copy/pasting and automating. plus Stock plugs use less cpu hence quicker offline bounce.

I'm all for freedom to make what ever you like, but I do think another delay plug isn't contributing much.

think about it, go back to rack days, you'd buy 10 different compressors, but 1-3 identical delays, they just arent something you need a variety of.

Than you can ask yourself why there is so many car brands most of them release a new versions with minor changes once a year not exactly any new changes at all.
And nowadays they even look the same back in the 70,s you could atleast see with your eyes if it was a Ford or a WV

If your opinion would rule the plugin market there would only be 3-4 developer who release plugins.

Take a look at KVR for core FX like compressor delay reverb EQ and you find thousands of them and i bet most of them do exactly the same.

tkDelay is out of Beta and has been officially released.

    Slightly revised purchase info:
tkDelay comes at a fair price and with a generous demo policy:
You can fully evaluate tkDelay in demo mode, it will be fully functional, it will not stop working after a certain period of time.
If after demoing you decide to keep it as your new go-to delay, or to add it to your tools or to use it in one of your productions
then you MUST buy it. If you do not, we will know.

tkDelay costs only 29€, including free updates for life!
Your license allows you to use tkDelay on one computer at a time. Multiple tkDelay installs for use by the same person are fine.
