Sylenth, but Spire is starting to grow on me, it's bread&butter inviting synth, feel comfortable working with it, it get's me there fast, I can do everything on it without feeling I'm missing too much, for throwing ideas to the final deal, it serves good

I like the new buttsecks vst that's been out recently... produces quality saw wave forms and the unique thing about the plugin is that you can produce the saw wave and send it out to the compressor, or you can expand the saw wave and give it a unique sounding process *yes*

Audjoo Helix! is my favorite. It's the definition of a original vst to me. And it has alot of potential to make incredible sounds as long as you dont mind typing in your specific perameters as the nob's and sliders on it are kinda shakey. Alot of people passed on it due to it's janky gui but the interface makes it more homely to me.

It's kinda like those big industrial fans that your grandma uses from back in the old days. You know the ones you use to sing into as a kid haha. Them joints are big, outdated, and ulgy but always get the job done and are pretty fun to play with too. Thats how I see audjoo helix.

2 BazzISM (use it on EVERY track)
3 NI Massive (always a beast on basses, especial with Sugar Bytes WOW/Sausage Fattener on the bus)
4 Sylenth1 (best one for leads and high freq ish imo)
5 Vember Audio's Surge (my wildcard)

Well, I think I´m not going to be able to sleep tonight if I miss trying Omnisphere.
I´m not really a synth guy, but sometimes I need a flexible and fun plug to create some sub-bass or particles.
Before all the GBs waiting... can I load my own crappy wav samples to Omnisphere? I´m a slicing addict and is always fun to try my stuff inside different plugs. Thanks.

    Answering the main question:
I´m always getting back to a small, modest, piece of software that is my friend since I started writing in the box, the EVP73. I think I´ve pushed that little thing to every process out there, and it´s always nice to listen the new result. Maybe I don´t have a big favourte plug until now :dunno:
I tend to write the midi notes close to 0 velocity and then stacking something after to crank up the level, and I get some really expressive and rounded sounds that are always inspiring.

Maybe a new topic could be: What´s the most old-little plug that you can´t leave behind?

How did I miss THIS thread!? Ha!

Anyways, I would say that overall I like Omnisphere (I am including the expansions and Trilian in this too) the best. You can make practically any tone you want in that monster. I know it is the obvious answer, but come on--it's too good to not get my vote lol.

But I have love for Sylenth1 as well. Like the OP, I have customized and updated 2 older Sylenth1 skins to the latest version (and fixed a few GUI bugs/errors the original creator oddly left in) and as such have a particular attachment to those skins (the Blue and Yellow v2.2.1.1 Mopho skins). I loved the sound of Sylenth1 right away. I have been playing a Roland SH-32 for over a decade, and Sylenth was the first VSTi that I played that could effectively emulate the sound of that synth. I was hooked immediately. Yeah, I know tons of other great synths are out there, but Sylenth has always ran like a CHAMP for me, it has always been easy to manipulate, and I have a certain level of nostalgia associated with it. As such, it makes my list too.

I could do all my music with Zebra (if I really had to), so that would be my one-and-only synth.

I would add Omnisphere if I had a second choice.

Plus Live 9 and ready to go for years.

as I have a lot of real synths like MS20, Minimoog and Syrinx I have high standarts for using soft synths. When I need bred and butter sound I use sylenth but never ever would I use it for filter slides because of bad filters (techno kiddies like them because they dont know better). Diva and ZebraHz are great and have good filters.
