An new EQ plug-in featuring unique "Water" and "Fire" EQ curves, and designed to provide for super-flexible frequency shaping with excellent sound quality.

Evorax: Verbally overrated tool, which is no special than the actual EQs options available. Water/Fire/Neutral? Just some fancy way of naming different bell shapes. Oversampling and auto-gain, wow that must be something new (sarcasm).
Years of development for a digital EQ with fancy-named curves and a dedicated midi controller. This is just an alternative of the actual EQs, not an improvement.
Did he added a "borrowed" Nebula snapshot too as a "cherry on top"? I wouldn't be surprised...
Want an overrated&overpriced tool to spend your countless money papers on it? this is the best choice for you!
Want something more "realistically" priced and also probably even better tools? Look for anything else.

Absolutely agree, but you must admit it does look sexy. ;)

Also, I'm sure that if iLok2 cracks were available, this EQ would be highly praised and have a religious following, as would most of the Slate stuff.

Having said all this, I still think FG-X sucks ass.

i was waiting for this one,
the GUI looks really good and also the way how its designed, to bad i dont own a iLok2 (i never will), so i cant and i wont test it.

why not stop with the iLok shit protections or dongles in general!? :dunno:

EDIT: you need a special midi controller for it?

They said it will provide a midi controller (looking similar with that GUI) along with the plugin. :dunno:

He should have released that two years earlier.

Now, FF Pro-Q 2 can do all that, plus much more.

    +1
Why they haven't stopped it yet?
The answer is: They (scary developers) brought it out (iLok2) after iLok1 got defeated.
With iLok2 they feel secure……until this one will get defeated too. Same holds for all the other
intrusive crap protections. I never understood why developers don't trust their customers and
impose them to use such additional garbage, instead of improving their products.

The Truth is once Fabrice Gabriel's name is on a plugin I will buy it. The quality of his products always shine through. Yes I have the Fabulous Fabfilter Pro Q 2 and other EQs but if this other EQ presents another colour to my sonic palette that makes my recorded material sound better I will definitely give it a try. We all just want to make music and make our music sound better. It doesn't matter what tool you use. The choice is always yours

Yeah, but too much choices means less productivity and musicality.
Don't tell me your clients/audience would notice the virtual EQ plugins differences in the songs you deliver (which you almost can hear it on high-end studio monitors on a side by side solo comparison) that much, in order to justify the purchase for the newer EQ.
You are right that it might represent "another colour", but unless you compare it to your actual EQs, you can't be that sure about it and you know it.

I think DMG Equilibrium is the thing you want, sell everything else you got and get that one,use VST Analyzer and see how you can achieve the curves of any thing you want,in many cases you will end up with Equilibrium and dedicated plugin flavor of saturation.
