Hi all

Does anyone know where i could lay my hands on any good free xml website templates for a website i want to make?

The reason why i want xml is cos i'm pretty clueless with web design and xml is pretty straight forward, I just have to edit the xml file with text and I'm good to go

The main features i want for my site are most importantly a contact form and an mp3 player, as the site is going to be used by me to promote myself as a solo acoustic act playing round the pubs and bars to try and make a bit of cash

But are you sure you want to pass through doing your website yourself?

Nowaday there are free hosting where you can use templates that include mp3 players and contact forms. Like this one: http://www.wix.com/website/templates/html/music/1

 

This site is not free, but there are good templates (HTML5, responsive, etc) with decent prices: http://themeforest.net/search?utf8=%E2%9C%93&order_by=price&term=music&page=1. Prices >+ 8 usd.

And if you're looking for something specific (plugin, scripts, JS, adon, widgets, etc), a good website is the http://codecanyon.net/search?utf8=%E2%9C%93&term=mp3. Also, isn't free but there are good prices (> US$ 5).

Buy a paid template (tested) is good because it avoids to stay looking and testing various templates frees. Time is VERY precious. Even if you know programming, it's better to have something done because it saves a lot of time. A LOT.

But I warn you. You're entering into a big path. It may will not go as you want it. You may wanna use wix.com as mentioned or wordpress is not very hard. You can also make an html page and then you'll embed your soundcloud account to have an mp3 player. I think it's easier than flash.

You've gave me a few more ideas now, and a few things to think about too, as i say, i'm useless with web design & building, so if it goes tits up when i do it, i know i'll have to get in someone who knows what they're doing
