I would show whatever support the real scene needs as a musician who depends on them for fresh immediate access to new flavor. Then I buy the stuff I use and make money with.
However, I am just a guy who makes music, ya I maybe pro and have a name but I am not a cracker or in this "scene" and how am I supposed to get into the private world. I would love to help you guys do what you do. I have been using your skills and releases since 95 based on that year you can tell who's releases I have had. Feel free to message me and we can talk further.

I know what it's like to grow up, but I also know there are people that do what they do because they love to do it and occasionally shit sucks and people need a little lift up. So hit me up.

    hey guys,

How exactly did the lamers force the hand of R2R to crack serum so early ? If thats the case then its R2R's fault just as much because you would think they are aware of how they are impacting the scene... ?

What this scene needs is a better way of marketing / advertising products as things are easily missed if your not a "follower" of some dev or "in the know". IMO products need to be more reasonably priced aswell because alot of stuff doesn't equate to the current times of economy.

Lastly, I wish the FL Studio teenagers would stop bombarding the audio scene with the same ol crap over & over = "oh i don't make any money from music, oh I can't afford these products" & making obsurd requests & the likes.... I mean grow some balls & spend your money on the things you love, even if you can't at the immediate moment, this should still be the long term goal hence cut all that crap talk...

Catalyst, I don't think Lukie meant that "money kills everything" in the context of warez scene. I think he meant it generally. And generally money does kill everything, from creativity to lives, to whole societies. It's not at all funny how seriously twisted greed can be and corrupt people, make them choose completely different and wrong turns in life etc. just for their own cause, not thinking of anybody else, let alone the whole society. And looking at the big picture money and greed is the only thing that is going to bring our civilisation back into the stone age. It is already nicely happening while we speak, and it's been happening for a very long time. Like since the Roman empire that was brought down by the same money and idiocy we are going through right now. We just cannot get the civilisation right. For as long as there's money, there won't be a true, humane, friendly to all beings and nature, and just truly great human civilisation. <-- full stop.

hmmm, so that's a bit off topic... ;) I just wanted to point that little thing out that I think Lukie meant. I might be entirely wrong, of course.

    Cheers :mates:!

About R2R, read their NFO to understand their point of view. It is simple to understand. But not right to me.

Why not letting a bad crack spread ?
It would have created the SAME popularity than a working crack (remember U-He releases ?). And so helped dev.
After all, it was not their work...nothing to defend.

Their second point was to fight against Waves Codex. So they released their Serum crack, fully working awesome synth, to fight against an average sounding (as usual with Waves synths) clone ? Wrong argument to me.

gHOSt release should have been left like this. Users would have found it was not working right.
It would have created interest, and so helped dev selling more to ppl REALLY using and wanting it.

But R2R tried to be smarter...and they failed. Because now there is a fully working release...unlike gHOSt one.
And other ppl putting pressure on gHOSt failed too. Because they told him, and potential other crackers, HOW to improve this crack, instead of letting a bad release JUST spread. Opposite result.

Those who tried to help dev made the situation even worse than gHOSt release.
    I don't say that in a superior way. That's just what happened...sadly.

This synth is amazing, like Spire is in his domain.

You're just thinking short term Pip, we're in it for the long haul. In my opinion the only thing that was done wrong is all teams not joining the strike immediately because I did give a warning since I don't ever underestimate people. Users that had the first crack that worked 20 minutes before the serial was asked to be input again still went crazy for that version. Also you're looking at it just from the point of view of the devs but the non-working crack created more problems for us and the teams than a working one because it drove demand for a crack to insane levels which ended up creating a lot of work. Anyway there were repercussions both for gHOSt and in general so they won the battle but you'll never really know how they truly lost the war.

I dont understand that becuase people asked for serum immediately (as they do because they are impatient) that R2R had to release it???
And also that Audioz had to link t it on their site??? Even though there was notices that because of the dev that Serum wouldnt be available for a while (of course a good thing)

NOW there are those that continually ask for warez may it be in the wrong section or repeatedly ask for dumb things like cubase 7.5 etc
or just annoy by being greedy & aren't content with the 3 million samplepacks alraedy available for EDM (a pet hate of mine & im sure im not alone) & ask for more.

Can anyone answer this for me, why did audioz have to link it in the first place & why did R2R have to release it knowing that there were many in thought that wanted to wait a while to help the dev to reap the rewards before those out there get it for free & wont pay even though they would use it & make £££ rom their productions??

ALSO do groups such as R2R, AiR etc ever receive money from devs to not "crack" their software?? & also the main sites like Audioz receive £££ from devs to not link to dloads to cracked copies of their software??

Many thanks. btw the few times i have put in a request i always have offered services in return such as making a 3rd party QUALITY Kontakt lib image & .nicnt OR a forum banner or dj/artist logo as a direct swap.

    Many thanks. PAuL POLYbiUS

It was because another cracker tried to crack it and leaked it all over the net even though all the major teams had stated to not ask for it because they weren't going to release it for a while. That combined with some other reasons caused them to change their mind and push forward their release. When R2R makes a release I won't censor it, it's just not right and I don't feel that we'd serve the interests of our members like that. They were the ones that after all delayed the release in the first place and it is a gift so who are we to not accept it and share it with others?

I can't answer concerning whether they receive money to not crack stuff because I am not them. I would imagine however that they don't because how could they ever trust that they wouldn't be set up, they like to stay underground. We certainly don't get any money. Any consideration that is offered is only out of our desire to support them in their projects because it's the right thing to do though maybe not the popular thing to do. We put out our views and hope that someone else might feel the same, sometimes they do, sometimes they don't.

You're good people ppop6, the strike is not a statement that everyone must share something. We would never expect that but of course we always appreciate when members help out. It's the general attitude of ungratefulness towards the people that work really hard for free to support musicians. Organ1c said just yesterday that there is some fucked up comment on 75% of his posts, posts that he worked hard to compose and put up. Releases that he bought by funneling money back into the community from what little he earned from Uploaded or using his own funds. Another reason is that we find it unacceptable that software is 0day cracked giving the developer NO time to make some return on their hard work and investment.
