Computer Burnout

Discussion in 'Lounge' started by superliquidsunshine, Oct 7, 2014.

  1. Since about three weeks after my production computer fried from a power surge I have been playing my guitars more than I have in many a year, as well as little flute instruments that I have picked up along the way. I highly recommend taking time out (hopefully for not the same reason) to get back to the natural roots of our shared heritage, ie, acoustic sounds that need not be amplified to be heard. With that said, I miss my recording time (this computer that I am using to communicate is very old and very, very, very slooooooooooooooow and isn't probably worth trying to hijack for production). You all have a nice day!

its nice when your computer isnt working, you got so much free time to spend outside, train your instrument skills - in general get things done and studied.

every morning i try not to turn on my computer, but im still failing on this :(
so the best is when your computer is not working or its being on repair

I started playing guitar at the age of 16.. been playing now for 40 years and I often think that if at the time there were PCs like today most probably I would have never become a performing musician.

Computers are great tools and I use them every day to record and edit my music but they are indeed a time black hole.

yeah, look at todays music since the millenium. it sucks. too much overdubs, punch ins, takes, unlimited tracks. when creativity has boudaries you push it more to the edge.
