Bazille is described as ‘a monster hybrid modular’, with digital oscillators combined with analogue-style filters and realistic effects.

Bazille is available now for $89 (+ VAT in the EU) through October 15. After that, the regular price is $129 (+ VAT in the EU).

Request is rather pointless, people with a bit of knowledge know that U-he stuff hasn't been properly 'reversed' yet (and won't be I guess).

Congrats to Urs Heckmann for another great release!

ACE was very powerful already, so what must Bazille be like? :wow:
Good to see that there's a demo version, I might take the time to try it...
If I only had more time. And a modular synth *does* require spending time to have fun with it :(

Well, it's a great synth indeed, but i think it would serve just like a "fancy" buy or a personal satisfaction, because let's face it, what can you do with it which you can't do with your actual synths? Music still gets created no matter on what you switch to. Thanks Diabulus for the intel.

downloaded yesterday and have it only here to have. Modular synths take just to long to learn them.

Good synthesizer, but my favorite is zebra, because of its capabilities and easy programming

Well, depends on what your actual synths are. I appreciate Spire for its easy handling, Absynth for its depth, FM8 for its own clean character and Omnisphere for its tonal variety and usable preset browser. Bazille could fill a gap in that it offers lots of modulation options and cables which are clearly visible as opposed to other synths with a somewhat hidden mod matrix, and more than average envelopes and oscillators that allow for quite huge patches.

    And then, there's the sound.
When I first saw ACE, I thought "oh yes, yet another semi-modular synth", but when I listened to some programs, I was really surprised. I've never tried creating these sounds with other synths, but at least they're there, and I can use them immediately :)

Apart from that, you're totally right: You'll make great music with any of these synths, and I prefer the quick and easy-to-edit ones too, because inspiration and sounds go hand-in-hand, and the more I have to tweak synths or search for the right sound, the more the music may suffer, although sometimes it's exactly the new sounds than can be a source of fresh inspiration.

Well, depending on how exactly you approach your own productions, diving more into the technical aspect of it such as synthesis(and all types of it) or sticking to quick use of nice patches method. Either is good as long as you get the music done nicely. The thing is... would Bazille worth the money for "filling the gap" you mentioned when you already have ACE? (Or Modular V)?

EDIT: The only difference you find is in sound and usability, which are kinda irrelevant in the "making of a song" needs. The sonic characters
between Bazille and all the already available modular synths satisfies only the synth enthusiasts in particular. But when it comes about the actual production and delivering music to masses, the sonic character difference is irrelevant.

Well, that goes for a lot of things in life - but wouldn't life be rather boring if you only buy stuff which can do things other stuff we already have can't?

But I can assure you: Bazille can do stuff most of the other synths out there can't, simple as that. Just don't look for Sylenth/Spire/Massive stuff, that was never intended of course.

I didn't buy Bazille for the next best generic trance lead but for the fun of sound experimentation - and once you understood the concept, it's not that difficult to patch basic sounds like basses or pads.

And of course let's not forget this awesome skin, fully zoomable in HD:

I already wrote this message above, but i'll repost it.
Yes, life would be boring for the actual sounds designers & synths enthusiasts if they wouldn't taste the subtle sonic characteristics between synths (excepting usability and GUI, of course). But actually for music producers who care more about the end result of their craft? No. *no*

Like what? Featuring a cup holder? Curing old man impotency? Human-voice-like realistic sounds? If that's the extra things can do against Ace or Modular V, i'll buy it right away. :mates:

    hfeuhfz7342hf724, agree 100%.
And the fractalize sound just awesome. Don't let the GUI scares you, if you know a bit bout synthesis is not so difficult compared to other modulars.

Bazille is just pushing things further, like Aalto, VAZ, Karma or ACE.
There are a LOT of hidden gems in the conception.

I totally understand ppl don't like (semi) modular.
But if you like modular approach like me...you need Bazille

so the guys at kvr bazille contest have made a wagon train full of patches, and after a meticulous A-B selection, many will join the factory bank, to help making everything better, with specs "+2000 presets", instead of maybe 1100 or 1200. future buyers will appreciate
that love and passion put on those patches, and will remember the sound designers, when the oscillators will become warmer, and all those filters, envelopes and wires will start making everything scream and will burn the speakers/monitors.

probably the lucky kvr guys will get a final 88% off and will receive some special never-heard-before lead or hooven patches, as very few people can master the new synthesis techniques only masters master. i guess sound designers love when new synthesis are invented, they all must be tired of the old substractive, etc, synthesis that 95% of the vsti use to generate sounds.

wow, in less than 2 weeks, the music industry gets 2 fantastic vst instruments. first, Serum, from Xfer Records, and now, Bazille. i wonder how one pronounce it.
more like 'Buzz-Heil' ? 'Bayz-heil' ? or rather like in french 'bas-ziiii-e', like the sound in brazil--> 'bazi......ya'. don't know.

So, bazille, welcome to this merciless world

Haha, the brazil pronouncing sounds kinda funny.
In my country, Bazille sounds kinda similar to "bezea" which means "meringue" or "marshmallow". It sounds also like "basilica" which means "Basilique".
