Is it possible to run Propellerheads ReBirth RB-338 on Windows 8.1 64bit?

This didn't help me:

Would be great if there is a workaround. If not I will install WinXP to run it. Btw: It's for some old projects which I've used ReBirth in.
Or is it possible to import ReBirth files into a similar software (D16-Group and AudioRealism software come into my mind)?

no 32bit winxp

you could setup a virtual pc and run it inside that but xp 32bit

 

It's been years since I used Rebirth last time and I don't remember how it was with midi export,
but if you can export midi files then recreating the sounds with a 303 emu and some 808/909 samples in your daw shouldn't be difficult.
D16 Phoscyon will do the job very well for the 303 part.
Best solution remain SirSillySausage's one, install a VM with XP32

thanks zukunft for finding those links I did search for quite sometime last year trying to get rebirth to work on win7 64bit but gave up

The youtube link in my first post shows how it works in Windows 7 64bit (and 32bit). It has also a link where you can get all the needed files. Thanks to Tannoy WE for that.

and coming to my installing experiences with rebirth und Win8.1:
I did all whats showed in the video, but when I wanted to start 'install.cmd' I coudnt. it tells it has to be run in win7 (and other win), but can't in win8.1. has it smth to do with 'WinHlp32.exe'?
out of curiosity I tried to start rebirth anyway. it started and I could make the benchmark test, but then it has closed. when restarting rebirt, it shows the 'welcome' screen and then it dissapears.

Oh man! I REALLY hope this works with Win7 too, I remember spending too many hours just playing with ReBirth back in the day. Stuck on constant loop making tricky techno drum patterns with those double crisp 808-909 drums, and messing with all sorts of different synth sequences. Sweet memories.

The closest thing I've got to it these days is an Android app called RD4 that's very limited in comparison, but still fun to play with when you're laying in bed or out n about. I even had a homebrew hacked version of Rebirth on PSP (I think it was called PSP Reason or something like that, pure public domain).

 

And finally YES it's working in Windows 8.1 64bit as well as in Windows 7 etc.
The original YouTube link will have soon an updated solution.

And to all ReBirth fans, just a reminder, if you own an iPad there is the original Rebirth RB338 app waiting for fun....

..I see: there is/was a problem with re-birth when installed the "December Patchday" from Microsoft on your Win8.1 PC.
If not installed no problem. If installed..

I dont know about Win 8 but its no problem to run Rebirth at Win7 64 Bit!!

Just download latest Radium Release of Rebirth RB338 v2.01 (Radium-12-12-1998) or if you have an original ISO of it.
Then download the Win7 64Bit Installer here (official Release so its no Warez)
http://www.reasonfrance.fr/extra/ReBirth_RB-338_2.0.1_Installer_Windows_7_64_bit.zip

From that package run Windows update "Windows6.1-KB917607-x64.msu" first and secondly "ReBirth RB-338 2.0.1 Installer.exe"

Then install the mentioned Rebirth RB338 v2.01 (Radium-12-12-1998) to default dir. When finished simply copy the files from Radium Rebirth version to the install path where "ReBirth RB-338 2.0.1 Installer.exe" installed the package and overwrite all files. Thats it!
