hi guys i have some questions

first off with my music i can get it to sound really good on monitors but then it sounds really tinny on other speakers and sometimes lifeless

second thing is how do you get kicks to be really punchy, mine always sound really weak and no real thump to them.

for the third thing, when i make a lead sound i make it so when i turn down the cut off filter it makes a pluck sound, now if i turn up the filter so it turns into a more lead sound the volume goes up by a couple of db and throws everything out. i normally would automate the volume or clone the sound and run it in to different channels. was wondering if there was a better way of doing this, i also get this problem with acid sounds. i thought about compressing it but when i do it the compressor takes massive chunks out to try and level it out.

the main problem that can tiny the sound in your track its because sounds boomy (its the intend?)
If the instruments are not focused, especially the bass, its steals the power, especially with tiny speakers.
Search with parmetric for the boom region, its easy!!!
Sometimes the synths do not have a good filter section, but you can do it with a specialized filter like WOW2, that simulates many filters (also some filters sounds too digital).
also the other sounds are too open, with is great when alone, but with more instruments they must be more focused. If the society grows the profissionals must became more especializes right?
Hipass and lowpass in every single channel do the job.
Yeah! Compressors can take the life of the sound. The solution is soft tunings but more than one compressor and auxiliary channels.
You made envelopes with filter and reverb, try with distortions settings, ptich and compressors

 

You're lacking bass in your songs and your kicks are dull. I assume you're using small monitors so you cant monitor these frequencies.
simple eq curve that works for almost all kicks is, a couple db shelf boost at around 90hz, followed by a cut at round 200hz, and notch boost where the click is at around 5khz

This will make your kicks heavier, punchier and add an overall subbass presence in your songs.

 

Here is a setup i used a few times
when im at the mastering stage its just part of it,
but i found it helps with the kick and bass,

frist like what MYCbeats and ovalf say eq frist to make room,

iZotope Alloy 2 just use the transient /set to multi-band then push the kick and bass forward
with attack and sustain or you can use the mid and hi by droping the attack and sustain back on them just a bit.

after this load in MAGNETIC II ,lows - warm set just under 50/ highs - brilliance set just under 50
saturation tube 25% / tape color - vintage set at 9 am /reel speed 30 .boost on
just mess arouud till something works for you as each track is new,

what you want to learn is all there it just takes time to learn the tricks they use
then take your own path,trial and error will get you there.
