Hello there, I've been reading these forums for a while now, and I finally decided make an account! It's clear that the people here are very knowledgeable about music, so I'd appreciate it if anyone takes the time to listen to a few tracks of mine, and then give some advice on how I can improve it.

hi and welcome,
overall: sound selection: the plucked sound (is that supposed to recreate a guitar?) sounds to artificial for my ears.
the second track: the mix: the hihats perish in the mix. try a different sound and clean out your mix. not every sound needs the whole spectrum ;)

do you have a specific question that we could help you with? i find it hard to give feedback if i don`t know where you`re aiming at...

 

I guess my main concern is how to properly mix a track. I always do the final mix at a low voume (the ceiling is -2 or -3db, but the overal volume is lower so it doesn't sound overly compressed). Should I go higher in volume?
And I've noticed that the guitar felt did feel strange, I'll try to clean that up. And as for the second track, there are no hihats, just some rides that are suppoosed to stay in the background.
But I get what you mean; less is more. I've been trying to do that but it's suprisingly hard!

Well about the first song, i personally think it's awesome, sounds like some FFIX theme, and i love it! But, what is your goal doing music? Cause this tipe of song don't go to far. Also, you should search some sampled instruments for these kind of song, it will improve a lot the quality!

The second song is kinda boring at the beginning. The kick is lacking power, and the sound it's to dark, for this vocals, a brighter image should work better. It's lacking elements also. That hats don't sound to well to. Well the song is really dark, it's lacking high's.

The third, really like the guitar at the begining. Awesome violin's!!! Sound like a cool movie soundtrack!! Man, this third song is great, nothing negative to say, perfect! But like I said sound like a movie soundtrack, don't know what is your goal producing, but if it's something like that you are doing a damn well job!

first song. dont know why but i see japanese video game. chinese.... japanese i dont care.... ORIENTAL then? very interesting indeed. like a tetris game or something.
i would have loved a bit more delay on some of the plucks

second song. on my headphones it sounded bit muddy and dark. needs bit high elements.this is also something different. i get goth vampire people dancing to this in my head lol.not mainstream

3rd song. FIlm score epic stuff emotional. i personaly cant produce this stuff im not that good. this would be very hard for me. very classical orchestra type stuff. if you can write stuff like this im sure some film makers can use it... even if its B grade or student movies. i really enjoyed this one alot
