What's on your Master Channel Ableton Live when you're live

    eq8>
    - hi-pass somewhere between 30 and 45Hz depending on room and PA
    - lowpass at 18kHz

    saturator>
    - analog mode, no DC, no color, +1dB gain, softclip (lighter than a limiter, roughly the same result)

    the sound system should have compressors and what not to protect the equipment so I wouldnt really put anything.

    I beg to differ : in a nightclub situation, you don't always have a good dedicated live engineer, and you usually won't be allowed (for tons of good reasons) to fine tune PA compressor and/or limiter, you'll only have hands on a little console or DJ mixer.
    You're better off using some effect you can reliably predict.
