ok, say i want to slice an audio file on the timeline, i cannot seem to mopve the cursor independently from playback. when it is playing back if i move the cursor it goes to that point to start loop. if i press split, the file will be split according to where the playback head is, not where i want it to be. i know it's trivial, but it is the little things that drive you to the madhouse. any help would be hugely appreciated : )

he must be reffering to the My Little Pony PS3 game. well, the only advice i have is to press Triangle,Square,Square,Up,Left,Left - resets all pony settings and unlocks secret super pony, thank me laterz

 

oh dear, i am so sorry, i thought i was posting to a samplitude thread.
it would help , yes, it is samplitude X and i was trying to ask about how to position the cursor for editing at a position that is independent of the playback. i know there is a 'cut' tool, but i am so used to cutting audio on the fly that i wanted to find if there is an option in samplitude
