mastering s usually applied to a whole track. Processing (which you probably is refering to) is EQ, gate, compression, filtering (lowcut/highpass to remove rumble, proximity and some plosives), maybe overdrive/distortion and/or exciter.

There is no "best" software. There are hundreds of ways to do this (DAWs, built-in effects, dedicated vocal-strip plugins and endless number of individual plugins that can make or break an effect-chain).

there are tons of nice Plugins for mastering also..you can check Waves..

I cant believe that this works. Looks like they normalize the files, fair enough, cheap road to "loudness" but the pitch correction...? On a full track? How can that possibly work right?

i dont know how the software do it hehe..

i just used it to batch process my tons of music files that i have to listen , so they have atleast a decent sound..
of course its not that decent compared to the real mastering..

some other DJs used it to level all of their tracks .. *yes*

its a Lazy tool..but still works if used properly

Yeah I agree its probably handy to quickly volume normalize files, but the pitch correction thing on a full track is just crazy.

Thank you to all who posted and advised! I learned that there is no simple software to process vocals perfectly. I have to know what I want them to sound like AND know how to get them to sound that way.

(first sorry for my English i'm French ^^)

if you want to make a very good mastering,

    use Mid/Side EQ Linear
    (like Brainworx, Waves, ...)

    Stereo Tools
Vengeance Stereo Bundle for ex (if you want to use)

    Compressor
(Buss Compressor: UAD 4K, Waves BussComp, Cytomic Glue, ...)
(Multiband Compressor: Vengeance Multiband, Waves C4, Bluecat MB5 ...)
Multiband is perfect for clean the Sub Frequency & agressive frequency!

    Limiter
(Fabfilter Pro-L is the best for me)
    Izotope, waves L2 or make a Mid/side Limiting ;)

I hope his advice will help you ;)
