Best low CPU Fake side chain?

I've used XFER LFO tool but recently Nicky Romero Side thing

But the Nicky Romero one seems to eat CPU (might just be my imagination)

What's the best "fake side chain" for low CPU and great performance

    Cheers

    Cheers bud.

I do use good old PDC live 9.

Would I have to set up a input track to use auto filter.

I kind of like the fake side chains with a few presets.

Kind of slap on and go side chaining.

Also Volumeshaper 3 is an option... when i insert a instance of this plug, my old 6 core AMD 1055t doesn't even feel it. :mates:

is a bit much work, but this takes almost +1% CPU , well one could make an audio clip with the vol SC curve on it and save it to the clips.

Volume shaper is awesome for exotic SCing.

    I've used this before.

Your DAW may have features that make it easier. Eg, FL has this LFO thingy? and REAPER has parameter modulation (with LFO).

Gross Beat and Love Philter can do the job with minimum CPU. Don't know what DAW you use though.

Anybody ever use the old Whitelabel Sidefire?

I never tried it. I had it at one point in time though. I just use built in stuff in Reaper. What about Blue Cats? Don't their plugs all work across more than one track? Like if its on two separate tracks, can you link the two plugs to work together? I know the MB-7 mixer can.

And? It was something wrong with it? As long as you save the presets and also roll off the ending point of the curve with a few ms, it provides a clean artifacts-free sidechain.

Tc Native 3.0 sidechainer, was the first side chain device I ever used. :)
I use Live's auto-filter and gate. There's also a Free Max for Live Device available for download from Plus.PointBlankLondon.com
    ... Here's the link

There's also some other Free Max 4 Live Plugins there available for dL-ing. You just need to register.

Nicky Romero's Kickstart is the best I have found and its so simple

If you want to use the sidechain for a simple volume ducking, automating the volume has the least possible performance impact.

I don't know if you use FL, but it already has some built in plugins that will help you do that.
You can use Grossbeat and select Sidechain Effect.
You can also use Peak Controller to sidechain it to a specific sound of you choice too.

I personally recomend Nicky Romero's Kickstart, as it's easy to use, it gives you the waveform of what the effect's doing on the sound and you can also automate the amount it applies, without using the DAW's built in Automation Clip for enabling or disabling it. It doesn't consume CPU that much.

For the Best low CPU Fake side chain
i just put my fingers in and out of my ears really quickly
it looks fun and also helps with Ear Wax Removal.
And if you shout sidechain at the right moment
everyone in the audience can join in,
its called free sidechain movement orˈmuːvm(ə)nt/ for short ,its a noun as well. :dancing:
