Recently I moved to a new computer with windows 11. Till now I was using windows 10 along with Waves.Ultimate.v2023.07.31 , only the VST2 version.

I want to setup the latest version of waves but unfortunately, they are only VST3. As a result, more than 50 projects that Ihave they don’t open due to the incompatibility between VST2 and VST3.

Is there any way to open my projects with the latest vst3 waves pluga?

I would really, Really, RREEAALLYY appreciate any help-idea on this issue, as I am completely lost with this situation.

 

You should mention which DAW you are using, but your best bet is probably to install the old version like 14 or whatever you were using. You might be able to install both vst2 and vst3 copies, open the projects with the vst2s in them, and see what is the best way to migrate them to the new vst3 copies. After you get them saved with the vst3 versions, uninstall v14 and install the newest version you have.

I do not think with Waves, that you can just go drag in the old copies because of their whole waveshell setup and the quirks involved, at least not without a lot more effort....

 

In cubase at least the step from vst2 to vst3 was automatic. Same with Kontakt. But that was a while ago
