even found the "update_nexus_library_location.exe" file in my Nexus Library folder (that's in my external SSD) but it also doesnt work
I think that there should be a step-by-step guide of the actual way to change library location fixed in OP, since its one of the most re-asked questions and fundamental things I saw here (been scrolling for a long time trying to find a answer)

Got it, in order to the installer let you change the folder location, you'll need to select "clean install", if you don't, this option will be grayed out.
Seems like "settings.json" or "update_nexus_library_location.exe" are no longer necessary

I think it woul'd be very useful to fix the current way of changing library location in OP, since the method has been changing a lot

 

It's always a good idea (or at least most of the time to be honest) to install programs and data at the default location.
Afterwards you can alway move tha data location to another path or drive and use hardlinks to point from origina location to your preferred location.
This way you don't even need to remember where the actual fil location is. (in my case very useful becaus I use very long UNC paths to my NASes)

You can use windows utilities or - I find it a lot more convenient - the hard link shell extension freeware. I'ts rock solid an a daily helpe:
As it is a shell extension you can simply use right click commands.

 

Yeah I also tried that, I set a shortcut of Nexus Contet (which is on my 2nd ssd) on the default location but this also didnt work
It's hard to keep 200gb folders in main disk, if I'd do that on every application Id run out of space so fast
