if you are not going to switch to an interface with external hardware based dsp, an interface is not going to change much, if anything. If you are running that Focusrite software on a Mac, it is not great. But if it is already working for you in other DAWs, it's not your problem either. I've never heard of a specific DAW have an issue with a interface driver that does not show up in other DAW. That is because this is all handled by Apple Core Audio on a Mac, or by the driver communicating with Windows.

Studio One is basically Cubase, for purposes of this kind of topic. If you are having a latency issue recording vocals in one of them; the answer is really simple. Don't track vocals in that DAW. If you want to put up with some bloat for extra features, use them to produce and mix. Track in another DAW you do not have a latency problem in. Logic, REAPER, Protools, or whatever you find works fine with your setup.

Bounce your mix to wave, load it into the "tracking DAW"; and track the vocals. Bring the files back into your DAW with your real session project.
    Mix in Studio One.

No vocalist (who you are dealing with) is ever going to tell you to change your mix by anything more than what they are hearing. Gain and EQ, if even that much. Even if they were to want you to do something drastic, stick Acon Digital Remix and Acon Remix Drums on the track with your mixed down file. You aren't going to render that again anyway. Lift the vocal into the other DAW and you are done. They will not care. Most "vocalists" you are recording are only one step removed from a karaoke bar anyway.

The DAWS in some cases are becoming like pop music now, instead of tailoring towards engineers, they are tailoring to the masses.

If people look at music history, the FUNNY part until now, is studios never had anything to do with radio stations unless they were affiliated or owned by a radio station which was not the majority. They were affiliated with record labels, were independents, or owned by name musicians because most people could not afford well over $100,000 to set up a studio. The dollar wage was WAY less until now.

NOW - everyone can afford it, get a free version of Reaper and people record their own music. The radio stations while still on the airwaves, are mostly on The Internet and people tailor more towards the streaming faves and 'look at me' crowd.

DAWs and STUDIOS used to be dedicated towards recording and engineers. Now it has incorporated so many popular trends, and tailored towards people who are bedroom musicians and teenagers, the entire area is very grey. People these days want something for nothing and do not get they are receiving next to nothing for something.

Once again : if you HEAR latency, it is more than 30ms
So the soundcard, even at 64 samples, is NOT the culprit.

It is your audio chain (plugins, not set to ASIO, wrong DAW setting ...).

Ok i'm out now ... good luck

Maybe get Quantum 2626 and forget about interfaces for a while, they probably cut some corners on ES2, just skip it altogether, there's number of folks on here that rock 2626, maybe they can give you more insights about it.

Steinberg sais they're not gonna introduce subscription models in the foreseeable future.
They say they know people hate it and that they're not fans of subscription themselves.
I like that approach. I was more than upset when Avid started it's Pro Tools fee (have they been the first in the business or was that Adobe? ). And we dont have to talk about adobe. How predatory can a company be to have people subscribe to their software while training an AI on their customers art.
I don't see a very positive future for studio one, and that's sad. Fender is not the company it has been and can't be compared to yamaha. Yamaha is a huge corporation with deep pockets. They don't need to use a DAW as a cash cow. They use it to sum up their portfolio. Which is a good fit for yamahas live and studio equipment. But Fender? Bundling a Strat with studio one? I'm not even sure Fender knows what a gem they got on their hand. I guess for them it's 'that software people seem to like that is some sort of fancy garage band.' And making the coders create some app shows their priorities. It's sad. That's why we can't have nice things.

Just wait and see. They both have a lot of know-how, know the market very well, and will surely invent things they can sell. They only make money if they do their job well. Remember: Consumers will only buy products they need or that are useful! They will certainly keep Studio One stable and improve it, because otherwise, users or future users will go to the competition.

PreSonus Products: Studio One, Notion, Progression, Recording Interfaces, Digital Mixers, Control Surfaces, Loudspeakers

"After more than 25 years, PreSonus is confident it has found the right partner to support us in our continued growth.
We're excited to show our current and future users what this opportunity means for them."

The two manufacturers have not yet revealed what specific changes will result for PreSonus and Fender customers. However, they are talking about a comprehensive "ecosystem" in which hardware and software will be seamlessly integrated to offer customers a seamless user experience. The merger with PreSonus will make this possible. New technologies for online collaboration and the distribution of creative content are also part of the concept.

What this means in concrete terms, we can only guess at the moment. Will Studio One include official emulations of Fender amps in the future? It's possible, as is a version of the music notation program Notion optimized for guitar. Complete entry-level bundles including a guitar, audio interface, and monitor speakers or headphones are also conceivable. There's also overlap in the PA sector, where Fender's compact Passport systems meet the active speakers of the PreSonus AIR and ULT series. We'll see what the two manufacturers come up with.

Am I the only one who thinks this is a bad look?

I checked out Fender Studio Pro at a friend’s studio and noticed the Studio Assistant button in the top right corner.

    Clicked it, and got:

“The Studio Assistant feature is currently only available with a Fender Studio Pro+ subscription.”

    Seriously?

I understand subscription features. That’s not the issue.

But this constant subscription nagging really suxxx.

I don’t want my DAW interface to remind me all the time that there is another payment tier available. If I buy a perpetual license, I want to feel like I own a complete product, not like I’m using a billboard for the subscription plan.

Just hide the button for perpetual users or mark it clearly as a Pro+ feature.

Small thing maybe, but stuff like this affects trust.

I met Presonus with Studio one 5 and falling in love instantly, like, the moment i open the DAW i feel that "music producer workstation" perfect world... cant say it with words but, if i open ableton, i feel like a nerd math... bitwig? idk why but i feel like entering mcdonald, Reaper? like a W98 user with all respect Reaper deserves. I just want to arm a track, record, and use my plugin with a modern environment, studio one achieve this very good. Now with fender into the equation i feel like someone its in my house, like a cancer which idk when it will be start to growing and fk all around me xD sorry but i cant find specific words, thats my experience x)

So, i am too dissapointed that fender bought em, on reddit theres a recently considerable amount of people talking about start to looking somewhere, but meanwhile i found a solution if u wanna go back to studio one 7 for example, u can go to any studio one but u need to try:

A temporary solution to be able to open with older studio one like 5,6,7 etc. is this: The ".song" file of any studio one is still a "compressed" archive so u can use winrar to open it.

Follow this exact steps BUT REMEMBER TO BACK UP ANYTHING U WANT ALWAYS IM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY BAD MOVE:

-Make a copy of the .song file u want to edit.

-Change the extension for .rar or dont change it but open it with a winrar/7zip etc.

    -Look for the file metainfo.xml.

-Extract metainfo.xml to the folder of the project.

-Open it with notepad or similar to edit the text.

    -Search the line where says: <Attribute id="Document:Generator" value="Studio Pro/8.0.2.110929"/>

-There ONLY there into the " " u MUST write the EXACT version of the studio one u want to be able to open that.

-Save that file, then drag into the rar to "refresh" the content.

-Try to open it with the studio one u put into it.

    Cheers.
