Hey Iv been using Serum2 quite thoroughly - v.2.0.23 [by X] on Win10 PC. With all versions I have not been able to load FX rack presets in either Serum2 of Serum2FX - which is frustrating at times. Just to clarify I mean under the FX tab you can load prebuilt racks and save and reload your own. The actual file type is .SerumFXRack and windows folder location is C:\Users\xxxxx\Documents\Xfer\Serum 2 Presets\Effect Chains\FX Rack. These presets just don't work at all - when you load a preset - even ones I have created myself they just load a rack with no FX. Ive done all the googlings, found others talking of same issue but no confirmed fix other than upgrade to latest version which I am unable to afford currently and 2.0.23 is only stable version I have access to. I have tried tweaking numbers in notepad++ with no success. I will be very grateful if anyone is able to help me

 

When you try testing it, do you just open Serum as a plugin, click FX\, and then on the left side you see basically this when yu go to load FX racks? :

 

Yes this is exactly what I mean and yes the factory presets show like in the img you uploaded [and also some extra ones I have downloaded show] but when I click on them none of the FX units are there...like they load but its an empty rack...

Do they load for you and if so what version are you running? Is it cracked or legit? I can see you are mac user...I don't have any experience with Mac

 

it is legit Serum 2. As long as you have the files in the correct folder /user, also where it stores the factory ones, it should work. If it doesn't, chances are the version you are using missed a piece of protection there? That plugin was difficult for releasers, as you could see by the multiple revisions that were done. I'm on Mac, so I can't tell you exactly which version might fix that bug; but if you were thinking about trying others, the first thing I would do would be to try the official demo to verify you are doing everything right with your preset locations. Fully remove the one you are using first with something like Revo Uninstaller, or ask GPT and it would give you a removal list.

What happens in the Serum 2 FX plugin? You could look at permissions issue, and you can also try the Rebuild Database option in Serum2 menu, but since it is loading blank presets with no error message, it's more likely a bug.

Hey clone thanks for getting back to me and taking time to help. Yes I know Serum 2 has been well loaded with traps, timebombs, etc. I once heard Duda say he was affiliated with the release scene to some extent back in the day before Xfer was founded. He clearly understands the ins and outs and has gone to great lengths to prevent S2 from been cracked. That been said - yes Im pretty sure my issue is bug due to the way files have been patched, etc - I was just curious if anyone else had found a way to get it working on this version of Serum. I do intend on purchasing when I am able to afford - its so much more than just a synth and its value is priceless to me. Thank you for all of your suggestions, I had already tried rebuilding DB and rescanning disks. As for updating to the current demo, Im quite sure would fix it but scared it will break things when I revert back so will just stick with what I have for now
