Tried to grab an older version of MODO DRUM which has all the drum kits but when I install the 1.5 version it leaves two copies of the same plugin, the 1.1.3 is showing all kits available but 1.5 doesn’t, even though I installed them. And when I change the sound content folder in the plugin now none of the kits are available? Is there registration for the factory library separate from the plugin? Would like to use the newer 1.5 version but I don’t know how to use the 1.1.3 library and I don’t think they fundamentally changed the kits with the update making the previous version incompatible?

Try this from sister site comments:
IK Multimedia MODO DRUM v1.5.0 Incl Keygen-R2R
also the 3 Kits are named:
IK Multimedia MODO DRUM v1.5.0 - 3 new kits

Here's how you do it :
    1. If you have v1.1.3 + sound content installed, find these 3 files and move it somewhere.

    ModoDrumData_000.pak
    ModoDrumData_001.pak
    ModoDrumData_002.pak

use search function to locate those file

    2. Uninstall the v1.1.3
    3. Install the v1.5.1. Authorize with R2R Keygen
    4. Create a folder anywhere you like, name it something like "Modo Drum Sound Content" or shit like that. Place it anywhere you like. Move the 3 files mentioned earlier into the folder.
    5. Download additional 3 kits here. Copy the *.pak files to the sound content location you created earlier.
    6. Fire up DAW, load Modo Drum.
    7. Click the gear icon (settings) , locate the Sound Content Folder.
    8. Close Modo Drum plugin, remove it from project.
    9. Reopen it back. Everything should be there.

    Good luck.

Followed the instructions and now it works! Can I simply copy the factory kits to another computer to just install the 1.5 version without installing 1.1.3 first? If it was as simple as getting three files and pointing to them I would have tried it earlier but at least I can wrap everything up nicely to set up on the computer I’m keeping it on

I think that should work now you have the .pak [files] backed up.
This is what I have written down for my next installation having backed all the .pak files up together
UNRAR MODO DRUM CONTENT.rar to D: (DRIVE) (see D MODO DRUM CONTENT (FOLDER).jpg for location)
[this is the factory content from v1.1.3 and previous including MODO DRUM v1.5.0 - 3 new kits]
    upload_2026-7-3_22-4-45.png
    install MODO DRUM v1.5.0 - R2R
and use Keygen with (Automatic Registration)
any .pak files installed with v1.5.0 leave where they are installed and located by default at:
    C:\Program Files\IK Multimedia\MODO DRUM
    which include:
    ModoDrum.pak
    ModoDrumConfif.pak
    ModoDrumFactoryContent.pak
    *leave them here
Open Modo Drum VSTi and click cog if you need to select location
    of D:\MODO DRUM CONTENT
    Close and Reopen

Will it work putting everything in that default folder or should I make a new location and put that folder in the program folder? Tried it earlier but with both versions installed and that didn’t work, don’t know if that specific folder doesn’t work and you have to put everything somewhere else to get around it?

I think you can leave the default installed with v1.5.0 where they are and if you have enough room then you can put them with those default .paks on c: drive or make your own folder on another drive like I have and copy the rest to there and point to it by opening Modo Drum VSTi and click cog and select location of all the big .pak.
    I just have:
    ModoDrum.pak
    ModoDrumConfig.pak
    ModoDrumFactoryContent.pak
in default location and the rest on my D: drive
