If Taylor gets wrinkles, the industry will look for another young talent who looks good, and they'll then push her with money through the press and TV, so that crowds storm the concerts and fill the industry's coffers. What was that other one? Justin Bieber (singer), also a product of the music industry, everyone made a lot of money.

 

The main difference being Swift looks she could turn 50 years relatively healthy. At least alive

Bieber seems more comparable to Britney Spears. Sadly

 

The other difference is that Swift actually has talent. Underneath all that gloss and hype is one of the best singer/songwriters of her generation. She'll be around long after Sabrina, Ariana, Dua and <insert another current hit artist> have left the building. Her 50th album may well be called "Longevity".

 

Oh yeah. Swifties!

 

I live in the Russian Federation, and I don't give a damn who she is. But before I saw her performance, I realized that she was being heavily promoted and pushed into every hole according to the laws of show business and advertising. Money can do anything.

 

Taylor Swift is a Money Maker and pretends she is not.

Honestly, I stay well away from musical phenomena of this kind, including concerts organised as big events in very large venues. They are the death of music. It's just an industry, and their songs annoy me and hurt my ears. I don't care if this or that singer is talented, a good guitarist or a prolific songwriter. I just skip them... and I'm very, very happy.
There are millions of musicians and singers in the world, and many of them could move you to tears. The interesting and cool thing is that you can find them on the street or in a small club, one of those without a sign..Television myth who appear on all screens and streaming services are always at the forefront and are chosen by the industry.
They are not necessarily the best for listeners;
They are just the best for the industry.
At a given moment, in a given place, in a given instant, in a given commercial situation — call it what you will — they represent the product that, on average, is the most economical choice, exploiting precisely the context of the moment, where society, politics, tension, anxiety, suffering, frustration and adolescent needs are skilfully manipulated to create the narrative of the new myth of the moment.
It's like creating a fairy tale about a terrible war in which one day a savior arrives who, through mediation, brings together the victors and the vanquished, the good and the bad, the weak and the strong, the enemy and his enemy, or that of a health emergency, climate emergency, and so on...
I t' s a g r e a t m e d i a t i o n... only this, and in fact, it's constructed with the “media”... with a manipulation of information.
Nothing more than that.
But art... music... are quite another thing.
So, who the hell is Taylor Swift? I don't know — and I don't want to! Thanx

By that logic, the very comment I'm allegedly uninterested in, yet am naturally responding to because I supposedly crave attention, would mean that every post, every interaction, exists in the service of masturbating to some form of external gratification. But yes, she is undeniably talented, especially when it comes to satisfying the appetite for focused attention, regardless of what anyone else equally hungry for attention might think, say, or write about it.

 

With an estimated net worth of over $2 billion, what has she done for any of the homeless, hungry and sick in her country, nothing just like all the others. If anything a small tax free donation to an organization that keeps the majority in fees and admin salaries and leaves one to two percent for the poor, believe me, dig deep and be surprised. No hearts, no conscience , no compassion, just outright greed from those that have more than they will ever need.

You should probably look into things a bit more. She has given something like $100 million + with no signs of slowing down. Could she give more? sure, but she has already given insane amounts .

 

Just noticed I´ve never heard a Taylor Swift song, but seems like she´s being perceived as a somewhat good person and generally liked for her wholesome shows. I´d think that anyone who makes it in this industry must be an absolutely ruthless person. But maybe creating and selling the image of wholesomeness at least has positive influence if it´s done on such a massive scale. Idk..maybe not, just a thought.
