Gibson, Inc., the world's most iconic guitar brand, today announced that President and Chief Executive Officer Cesar Gueikian has made the decision to step back from his role as President and Chief Executive Officer and transition into a new role as strategic advisor to the Board, effective July 31, 2026.

In addition to serving as a member of the Board, Gueikian will remain actively involved at Gibson, focusing on his work with the Company's artist community as global artist ambassador and serving as a strategic thought partner to the leadership team.

Some say he quit; some call it a "Planned Leadership Transition;" some call it stepping down... but how can it be "planned" if the interim CEO and Board need to work with "a leading executive search firm to identify a permanent successor?" That doesn't sound "planned" at all.

Fender should sign Kurt Rusell as CEO, after telling him: "you know what Kurt? Gibson and Martin are actually the same brand. Go ride 'em, cowboy!"
