    Hi Guys

I have Presonus StudioLive III 32R Rack Mixer and I am trying to use the 16 analog outputs so that I can send any input signal to different devices connected to the 32R analog outputs to sample or record from but I cant figure out how to do this.

    My Setup is as follows

    StudioLive 32R Inputs
    Input 1/2 - Montage M7
    Input 3/4 - Fantom 7 EX
    Input 5/6 - Kronos 3
    Input 7/8 - MPC XL
    etc. etc

I want any signal from any of the above inputs to go to the Analog Outputs to various devices for sampling & recording etc

    StudioLive 32R Outputs

Analog Out 1/2 - 18i20 (Sampling to PC)
Analog Out 3/4 - UR44C (Sampling to MAC)
Analog Out 5/6 - MPC XL Sampling
Analog Out 7/8 - MPC Live III Sampling
    Analog Out 9/10 - Zoom H6 Recording
    etc. etc.

Any help would be very much appreciated

    Thank you in advance

    SC

PreSonus StudioLive Series iii Flex Mixes || Aux Sends, Subgroups and Matrix

To achieve this routing on your PreSonus StudioLive 32R, you will need to utilize FlexMixes configured as Aux Sends, paired with the mixer's Digital Patching (Soft Patching) matrix.

On the 32R, the physical TRS analog outputs (1–16) are hard-wired internally to FlexMixes 1–16. To send any input to any specific physical output, you must route that input through the corresponding FlexMix via UC Surface (the control software on your computer or tablet).

Here is exactly how to set this up step-by-step:

Step 1: Configure FlexMixes as Stereo Auxes
Because your sampling/recording targets are stereo pairs (e.g., 1/2, 3/4), you first need to link your FlexMixes into stereo pairs.

    1. Open UC Surface and select your StudioLive 32R.

    2. Go to your Mix Master section (the right side of the mixer screen).

    3. Select FlexMix 1. Click the gear/settings icon to open its channel processing overview.

    4. Set its type to Aux (instead of Subgroup or Matrix).

    5. Click the Link button to pair FlexMix 1 and 2 together into a stereo link.
      • FlexMix 1/2 will now directly feed your physical Analog Outputs 1/2 (the 18i20).
    6. Repeat this process for FlexMix 3/4, 5/6, 7/8, and 9/10, making sure they are all linked as stereo Auxes.
Step 2: Route the Inputs to the Correct Outputs (The Matrix)
Now that your outputs are ready to receive independent stereo mixes, you need to choose what audio gets sent to them.

    1. In UC Surface, look at the Mix Select section (typically on the left or bottom, depending on your view).

    2. Click on Aux 1/2 (which corresponds to your physical Analog Out 1/2). The entire mixer fader layout will shift to show you the "Sends" to Aux 1/2.

    3. Bring up the faders for the instruments you want to send to your PC's 18i20 interface:
      • Want to sample the Montage? Raise faders 1 and 2.

      • Want to sample the Fantom? Raise faders 3 and 4.
    4. Now, switch your Mix Select to Aux 3/4 (Analog Out 3/4 for your Mac's UR44C). Raise the faders for whatever instruments you want sent to the Mac.

    5. Repeat this workflow for Aux 5/6 (MPC XL), Aux 7/8 (MPC Live III), and Aux 9/10 (Zoom H6).
Tip for Pure Sampling: To ensure the instruments go to your samplers completely untouched by the channel volume faders of your main room mix, change the Aux tap point. Select the Aux master, go to its settings, and ensure the mix position is set to Pre 1 (Pre-Fader / Pre-EQ) or Pre 2 (Pre-Fader / Post-EQ). This ensures that even if a fader is down in your main monitors, the signal still goes full strength to your sampler.

Step 3: Double-Check Digital Patching (If no sound is passing)
By default, FlexMixes 1–16 are mapped 1:1 to Analog Outputs 1–16. If someone has previously altered the routing, you can easily restore it:

    1. Click the Gear icon in the top right corner of UC Surface to open Settings.

    2. Go to the Digital Patching tab, then select Analog Outs.

    3. Ensure that Analog Out 1 is assigned to FlexMix 1, Analog Out 2 to FlexMix 2, and so on down the line.
