Sound Designer

We are replacing most, if not all, of the original Oblivion sound effects with new and higher quality ones. As well as creating entirely new and unique sounds. For this, we are always in need of talented sound designers. These sounds range from weather and ambience to spells and weapons. Your role as a sound designer involves creating new unique audio assets for our content and/or implementing them using Creation Kit, xEdit and other relevant tools.

Requirements:

Experience with a DAW of your choice (Reaper, Pro Tools, Ableton, Cubase, etc.)
Experience creating foley and sound effects
While the majority of our work involves producing entirely new SFX, maintaining consistency across the project is essential. You will often need to match the style, tone, and technical approach of existing assets created by other members of the team. Strong analytical skills and the ability to adapt your workflow to established standards are therefore important. Know that while familiarity with implementation tools is beneficial, it is not a strict requirement. The primary focus is on your ability to create original, high-quality sound effects.

When applying, please include clear examples of your previous sound design work. A showreel, portfolio, or personal website is sufficient, as long as it provides a reliable demonstration of your skills and overall capability. Please keep in mind that this position focuses solely on sound design. We are not seeking musicians or voice actors for this role.

Skyblivion is a volunteer-based project by the TESRenewal modding group. We aim to bring The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion to a new generation of gamers and re-introduce it to long time fans of the series. We are currently in the process of remaking Cyrodiil along with all of its quests, locations and characters into Skyrim: Special Edition.
