I like your approach.
Listening to great music from other artists while being on drugs is very inspiring.
Downside is that it's not the most healthy way to go.

do something you've never done, learn something new - whether an instrument (NOT A DIGITAL ONE), a skill, buy a cookbook, randomly get up and go for a walk and talk to someone random, etc etc etc

The modern world has neutered man not because man is powerless, but because man believes that

1. he is not the captain of his own soul entirely

& even more importantly

2. that the solution to very close to 100% of any problem that can be conceived is the same one its been for millions of years, just be a human ,, that simple

rip the bandaid off , get uncomfortable (this is absolute #1 by far, convo for another day) but get uncomfortable literally be out of your element, go do something for no other reason than even the mildest curiosity

above all else, we must stop trying to derive einstein's field equations every time we wanna play catch with a ball

but seriously just learn a new instrument and have the discipline to actually stick to it everyday for idk 6 months (absolute blink of an eye btw) and watch this convo become irrelevant

Lastly (actual lastly) , a fulfilling life and what is truly the zenith of what one should strive for, is where can get to a point where any amount of negative input is nullified into a positive output, obviously for a human this is technically impossible, that's not the point though, the chase is the point and ultimate purpose.

Remixing is also an fun option, especially these days where you can stem split tracks, there's plenty of MIDI and remix packs flying around too, that can lift burden from coming up with entirely new ideas and work in realms of existing ones.
