Legit got the latest R2R version and it loads fast but stutters like a bitch , especially when im trying to play a solo with my keys and getting hanging notes all the time cause the daw stutters ONLY with zenology. I have many other famously used plugins but you guys cant be telling me yall live with this right?

Hi. I have same issues not only with Zenology, same with a lot of heavy intensive CPU load plugins. I run on a super duper ultra powerful i9 12900K but Windows 11 and all they buggy telemetry systems and enterprise unuseful background task, killer all ASIO audio work. I deactivate all unnecessary bios CPU options like E-Cores, C-States, Turbo, and all Intel/Asus overclocking and so on, and all work stable and smooth.

You need check all BIOS options and post detail to help to improve in your correct BIOS setup. Good luck.

 

In addition to @teknomix's comment I'd like to add that It's also Roland's plugins that aren't really programmed well, especially the GUI part is quite taxing on the CPU. For the time being, use older Zenology 1 instead if you like Zenology. It's a bit better. Not perfect by any stretch, but better.

Zenology 2 doesn't offer much more preset expansions, anyway. There are 1000s of great sounds for Z1 already.

Oh yeah, those E-cores are causing system's task scheduler issues and inter-core latencies on any OS, Windows or Linux. One of the main reasons I'm getting an AMD CPU. They're also far more Watt friendly and easier to cool.

This is the only one of the Roland Cloud plugins which had CPU performance that was not good on my old Mac Pro. I deleted it almost immediately. Quite a few of the plugins in the RC bundle have an option to set a lower CPU mode in the options menu. They aren't exactly uniformly labelled, but it makes a big difference. The M4 Mac barely even notices them.

 

It runs smooth without any glitches at all for me on i5-12700k/Win 11 but Galaxias runs terribly and is full of stutters even with one layer.

 

Dark Lord! This is so depressing. Bedides Microsoft programmers making an update a risk to ones computer, plugin programmers of 2026 are not able to code a gui that is not taxing on the cpu and people have to revert to older versions. I really don't like this decade.
