Oh yeah, this looks great.

I can immediately think of several ways to help up my fudging about. I had some ideas with the unofficial Live API that let's you access some LOM objects but it turned out not to be doable. This looks to be more capable in that regard.

Ideas like merging clips, cleaning up redundant scenes and sequentially exporting a track to MIDI.

My only niggle is having to use nodejs to develop these, but at least we've got some handy tooling for that.

It would be better if they finally made a sheet/score view. So that the program becomes not only for one-button beatmakers, but also at least a little for composers.

Ah yes, the composer who doesn't know there are several very capable solutions for working with notation in Live.

I'm not entirely sure how trustworthy this site is, and looks to me that extensions have fairly extensive (no pun intended) permissions so I'm gonna take care before allowing random code on my system. I'm sure Ableton will have a gallery eventually though.

But at least this gives idea what is out there and what this system is capable of.

something to be careful about

 

unless your actually an extension developer there's no need to run in developer mode and are therefore protected from this vulnerability not something for a normal non developer user of these extensions to worry about other than keeping developer mode off and downloading extensions from trusted sources, correct?

 

im so stoked for this. Im working on an extension that calls to praat audio effects, allowing you to select an algo, preview, and print back into your session. will share when im done.

 

Im gonna try to wrap VS code around it just like cursor and antigravity did so non Dev minded people can just connect their LLM of choice and use natural language to create what they need.
