Hello, how to remove a library that is no longer on my hard drive using KLU? on macOS

Also for some libraries, when reinstalling them they appear duplicated even tho I removed them from both KLU and hard drive. So either way there is some leftovers that do no delete well

Do I need to manually delete xml files from the service center folder ? and also the .plist file ? I just want to delete every library on my Mac to start fresh

ok I solved it by manually deleting every xml and plist files related to any library from my computer
now I am trying to batch install bu facing another error

"You are an admin user, but you will need to add your admin password to the Apple Keychain for this function to work !"

when trying to use the batch install and import my parent folder that contain all my librairies

 

I have always wanted to know how "cleanly remove" an unwanted Kontakt library.

 

The best way to remove a Kontakt library is to uninstall it before deleting it. Yes, as you say, the library is no longer on your hard drive, so you'll need to delete all its files.
Since Kontakt 8, there's a library of .json files in <<Users/Shared/Native Instruments/installed_products>> that KLU doesn't handle; it's from a later version. There's one file there for every installed Native Instruments product. In the case of Kontakt libraries, if you need to move them to a different drive, or if you've already moved them and Kontakt can't find them, you can edit the location path there. You can open one of those files with Simple Text, edit it (carefully), and save the changes. Do this with Kontakt closed! When you open Kontakt 8, the libraries you had lost the link to will appear. This avoids having to uninstall and reinstall them. Or worse, reinstalling them, which duplicates some files.

Since KLU isn't fully compatible with K8, the best way to uninstall is manually. Although I still use Kitty Scripts, I only use the 'uninstall' script; but for installation, I use AddLibrary v5.

To manually uninstall applications in general, I use a search engine like ProFind.app. In this specific case, I search by the library name, and from the search engine itself, you can delete the files, or open the folder containing them and manually delete them.
