Hi, I tried to install Drums 2 but it's not working in Cubase 15.

I installed Certificate from r2r. Check it with certchecker it's installed.
I AD2_Library_Placer from the same drive and destination as library, checked logs it's there

    app,"C:\ProgramData\XLN Audio\XLN Online Installer\App\"
    sound,"C:\ProgramData\XLN Audio\XLN Online Installer\Sound Data\"

and now when I open Cubase 15(bought version) I can see it in instrument section, but when I want to load it isn't there

Anyone knows what the problem is ?

    Is AD on the blocklist?
It is the last tab in the Plugins Windows on your screenshot.
If it's on the list, you can reactivate it and scan your plugins again.

Give me a few mins. I wrote out an installation sheet. I'll go find it and upload it here

    Update:=

    Here ya go.

This is the FULL list of what I did. There is no need to overcomplicate things.

    1) `Uninstall previous version - I use Revo Uninstaller
1a) Select SAFE scan and remove all entries
1b) On the next screen,DON'T delete the XLN folder.
    2) Make sure R2R network Block runtime isn't deleted (Not sure if it's needed but if you have it, don't delete it)
2.5) Uninstall previous R2R System if you have it
    3) Install R2R system 1.3.1 (or the most up to date version
    4) Copy the ENTIRE App and Sound Data Folders and AD2_Library_Placer from here to where you want the Library to go. (must overwrite previous to guarantee it working)
    5 Run AD2_Library_Placer
    6) Run Setup Addictive Drums 2 v2.9.0.4
    7) In the R2R folder ,Run WM_XLNAudio

I have tried this process twice and can confirm, it works wonderfully well!

    Thanks again to R2R.

    For new build:

    1) R2R network Block runtime (not included)
2). Uninstall previous R2R System if you have it
    3) Install R2R system 1.3.1 (or latest version)
    4) Copy the ENTIRE App and Sound Data Folders and AD2_Library_Placer from here to where you want the Library to go.
    5 Run AD2_Library_Placer
    6) Run Setup Addictive Drums 2 v2.9.0.4
    7) In the R2R folder ,Run WM_XLNAudio

    Thanks for all the infos.

I download and install newer r2r system 1.4.2.

At the last step when I run WM_XLNAudio it gives me message signature verfication error, it wasn't giving me that last time, strange...

But I register it with WM_XLNAudio from XLN Audio - RC-20 Retro Color [R2R] is that same registration for all XLN Audio by R2R or every installation has it's own activator ?

Still after register, all plugins that I installed, are not working in Cubase 15. They are all listed as working, but when I want to load them they are not there. I uninstall everything with Revo uninstaller, and install everything like you said, but still same outcome.

Each product must be registered individually, unless the “Keygen” includes a “Register All XLN Products” feature.
Sometimes it’s also a good idea to add certain folders to your antivirus scanner’s exclusion list. For example, I’ve added my “Cubase” and “VST3” folders to the exclusion list, along with a few other plugin-specific folders. Every plugin is scanned by the antivirus before loading. Adding these folders can also improve load times and latency, since they won’t be scanned beforehand.

    Hmmm.

I asked AI to list VST3 issues within Cubase 15

Here are the important things to try.

Clear the VST3 Cache & Force a Rescan:-

    Close Cubase completely.
Navigate to the preferences directory based on your operating system:

    Windows: C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\Steinberg\Cubase 15_64\Cubase Pro VST3 Cache\

    Delete the vst3plugins.xml file.

Restart Cubase. It will freshly scan your system and rebuild the cache.

    Verify Plugin Paths

Go to Studio > VST Plug-in Manager

Click on the Gear icon (bottom-left of the manager window) to view your VST 2 and VST 3 paths

Tried that, didn't help. I see them all in vst instruments, but when I want to open them they are not there.

Gear icon only let you choose VST 2 location not VST 3.

    I installed all.

XLN Audio - Addictive Drums 2 Complete v2.9.0.4
XLN Audio - Addictive Keys Complete v1.7.3.2
XLN Audio - Addictive Trigger Complete v1.3.9.3
    XLN Audio - Life v1.3.3.31
XLN Audio - RC-20 Retro Color

On Mac it's working perfectly in legit Cubase 15 Pro.
Just install V.R.'s release, move library to external drive, place symbolic link - ready to go.

    I have a few questions

does ad2 open in standalone mode?

do any of those xln products work in Cubase?

    What O/S are you using?

Did any work in cubase before you installed ad2?

Was the pc offline when installed?

    What firewall do you have?

    I don't use standalone.

Non of them are working in cubase.

    Win 11 Pro latest updates.

If you mean other plugins that I use, yes I use them every day. Only this ones are not working, and this is the first time I'm installing them on my PC. I never used them before.

PC was not offline when they were installed.

I only have firewall from windows nothing else.

i'm not on Windows usually, and these aren't plugins I would happen to use on my Windows laptop because I only really use FX plugins on it.

But here are some things I might suggest. I would uninstall all of them if you cannot figure it out. I would use Revo Uninstaller to get rid of them, and if you have to do some searches to find any leftovers, or any other things you might need to have a completely clean system of them.

I would install only the one most important to you first, which is probably Addictive Drums 2. I would get that working, test it, reboot, and move on to the next most important, probably Keys, right? Same thing, then do XO. Only after those are working, would I consider installing the software you might not even be using, but especially Life. I would do that one absolutely last, from what I saw of it previously.

The 2 big ones you have, AD and AK, can both have their content stored on an external drive. I would set them up that way, if you can. They take up system drive space, but also, it could help you not keep installing the content over and over, if you have been.

A decent firewall to block them in with, is a very good idea if they are deauthorizing. You could probably block the XLN website via hosts file, if you want the more direct approach until you setup a firewall for this purpose.

Already try that didn't help. I remove all of them with revo with advanced search for leftovers and delete all of it. Install only Addictive Drums 2, same thing Cubase 15 see it but I can't load it.

Tried in offline mode, same thing.

It looks like you are running into a common compatibility hurdle between legitimate host software and custom-patched plugins.

When you use a genuine, licensed version of Cubase 15, the software relies on strict security protocols, including specific plugin scanning, sandboxing, and certificate verification. Here is what is likely causing the issue and how to troubleshoot it:

    1. The Certificate Conflict (The Core Issue)
Because your Cubase 15 is a legitimate, bought version, its internal security and the eLicenser/Steinberg Licensing system look for official, digitally signed certificates from developers (like XLN Audio).

    • The custom certificate you installed works at the Windows system level, but Cubase's plugin scanner often detects that the binary signature of the plugin doesn't match the official XLN Audio server handshakes.

    • When you try to load the instrument, Cubase initializes the block, realizes the license handshake fails, and quietly refuses to instantiate the plugin—which is why it shows up in the list but fails to actually open.
    2. Blocklist or VST3 Sandboxing
Cubase 15 has an improved, stricter Plug-in Sentinel. If a plugin fails to initialize properly during the first load attempt, Cubase will either blocklist it or fail to load it silently to prevent the entire DAW from crashing.

    How to check:

    • Go to Studio > VST Plug-in Manager in Cubase.

    • Check the Blocklist tab. If Addictive Drums 2 is there, Cubase explicitly blocked it.

    • If it is under the regular VST Instruments tab but still won't load, click the Rescan All button at the bottom left to force Cubase to try reading the custom certificate environment again.
    3. Library Placer Directory Issues
The paths you provided look standard for the online installer, but Cubase 15 is strictly 64-bit VST3/VST2. If the Library Placer registered the paths in a registry key that Cubase cannot read, or if it placed a VST2 (.dll) file in a folder Cubase 15 isn't scanning, the GUI won't load.

    • Cubase 15 heavily prioritizes VST3 (.vst3). Ensure that the VST3 version of Addictive Drums 2 was properly generated and placed in C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3. If only a VST2 version was placed, Cubase might see the old cached entry but fail to initialize it.
    The Recommended Solution
Since you own a legitimate version of Cubase 15, the most stable, headache-free way to use Addictive Drums 2 without constant loading errors, crashes, or project corruption is to use the official XLN Online Installer.

Using the official trial or a licensed copy ensures that the plugin properly completes its handshake with Cubase's security sentinel, allowing the instrument to load immediately without being blocked.

Tnx. But I already knew that. I also know how to use AI, and it didn't help with it's generic answers.

I have a lot of cracked plugins in Cubase 15 which all work fine, few of them original, but most of them are also cracked. And I don't have any problems with them.

    Hello @Thermaltake, yes, I understand!
Completely uninstall everything—residual data can sometimes cause problems—then restart your PC and, if necessary, install an older version....

    Updating the eLicenser Control Center
Most issues involving the USB-eLicenser (dongle, formerly Steinberg Key), Soft-eLicenser, and/or software licenses are caused by an outdated or corrupted installation of the eLicenser Control Center (formerly Syncrosoft License Control Center).

Therefore, if your USB-eLicenser or a specific software license is not recognized, or if you encounter license-related error messages when launching your Steinberg software, you should first download and install the latest version of the eLicenser Control Center. If the installation fails, repeat the process after disconnecting any USB-eLicensers that may be connected to your computer.

^ Now it is spitting out junk about a 2 year old release.

Did you happen to notice that R2R released a fix file called this? XLN Audio Addictive Drums 2 Complete v2.9.0.4 FIXED ONLY-R2R <-not a link, just the title.

I'm not sure it will help you, but here is the description from their nfo file...

FIXED : Random auth routine disabling issue. It seems that previous release
was patched by the beta tools which does nothing to the extra checksum check
of the MD5 hashses (which we always need to patch). This is not a new
    protetion from XLN.

After we confirm this solves the previous reported issues, we will release
fixes for other XLN products released in 2026/03/26. Note that Life v1.3.3.3
(releaed in another day) is already patched by proper toolset.

I only want to know if it opens on your system. That way we can rule out AD2 being at fault, then concentrate on Cubase.

I don't know much about Cubase, but some DAW can dial home, thus disabling software, but not all!
