    Refurbished Dell Desktop PC Optiplex 7040 SFF, i7 6th gen, 32GB RAM, 1TB SSD NVMe, Windows 11 Pro, WiFi, DVD-RW $119.00

    Looks like a good deal. Sold by Tech Leaf on eBay. We discussed PC prices on my previous thread. Prices at the time were around $350.

    NEVER MIND! It was bogus. I selected the specs options and the price didn't change. Then I added it to the cart and the price went to $425 !!!

    If you search the refurb.io web site, you will get a more accurate price for the current market conditions.
    Some things to consider:
    • licensed Microsoft refurbisher
    • 90 day to 1 year warranty
    • reasonable shipping if not free
    • 8th Gen CPU to avoid Windows Update breaking a forced Windows 11 install

    A word about SFF boxen in general... They aren't good platforms for intensive applications like video or audio production. They are made for office use where running apps are stuff like spreadsheets, databases and web dev at the norm. The heat diss is a problem most often and not really able to be dealt with since the internals are extremely compacted and additional fans are not really possible.

    It's funny cause recently I upgraded parts on my desktop (CPU/mobo) and bought a refurbished laptop.
    Both Intel 12th gen, best bang for the buck right now.
