Lol, Soothe is by no means a plugin that you couldn't manage without, but this assessment is a bit reductive.

I disagree. It's expensive but does excellent job for what it's made for.

eh.. ive fallen out with soothe over the years. I own soothe 2, so the upgrade isn't too bad, but I don't use it nearly as much as i used to. I'll give it a demo, but unless that reworked algorithm can undeniably beat TDR / Ohlhorst Finesse, Acustica Dove or TBT Speccraft, im going to pass.

Holding my excitement back until I receive confirmation, but this update could be huge for Logic Pro users who are unable to perform external sidechaining with soothe2 due to Logic's External SC PDC issues with non-ZL plugins.

Yeah I am looking forward to that reworked algorithm. Don't get me wrong I think Soothe already sounds very very good and I use it a lot, however there's ever so slight smearing or. dulling I hear sometimes, especially in mastering situations where this can be quite critical. I didn't use it much in mastering but in mixing for most material it does work wonders in my experience where I can't really hear that it damages the audio in any way. Just bought the upgrade for 50 it was a good price for me.

This is obviously categorically incorrect. We all know the difference between dynamic spectral and static filter based processing. Why bother shitting out a dump of a comment like this? Insecurity probably.

I'm using Soothe a lot on the mastering because it's the best HF limiter money can buy. If you hipass it to 5Khz you will avoid the effect on the lower frequencies and then set it up to taste and needs.

Besides that i may use it on ressonant vocals. I avoid soothing everything because i feel it makes my track dull, like everything is heavily eq'd.

I understand the hate of some users towards Soothe, while i admit it's mostly their fault :rofl:It's easy to shitify your song with this plugin.
