Hey guys, just wanna share the work I did recently and of course always good to hear whatever you think about mix.
We recorded and produced a cover of Iron Maiden - Infinite Dreams.
I love the song very much and I tried my best to achieve the highest quality I can.

It's a classic from their 1988 album ''Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son''. Such an epic song with different interesting arrangements going from calm and sophisticated to the usual Iron Maiden style.
I never understood why Maiden never played it live again! One of my favorites!

Thanks, @HardRockVice, for the 6:17 Iron Maiden cover. You guys are doing a great job and come very close to the real Iron Maiden; I hope you stay together as a band and that we hear more from you.

 

I know there are cymbals. I just don't hear them.

 

Yeah, I also felt the mix kind of 'hid' the drums a bit… But overall, it was really well executed (the tone of the rhythm guitars and the double-tracks is practically perfect)! Congrats... and Up the Irons!

These brazilians here, under different lineups, but always when Raphael Mendes (singer) is around, they absolutely crush it!

Coming from family, where generations of family meeting was kept at Iron Maiden´s concert, you pretty much nailed it on playing wise, but I too think that the cymbals are missing in the mix..

Damn, it seems like everyone here agreed that the cymbals are not loud enough. Funny that on my headphones I hear them.
As I am travelling, I mixed this completely on headphones! Unfortunately I didn't have other reference, but I will be extra careful next time.

Oh I know Raphael Mendes! If covering means singing exactly like Bruce, that is for him and no one better than him on that, as he sings identically to Bruce.
I am singing without trying to imitate anyone. But I say that very humbly. Maiden wrote this classic and Bruce sang it, there is no other voice better in Maiden songs than Bruce's voice.

This is all just me and friends enjoying the classics we love.

 

Hey buddy, I shared that cover more as a production reference and also out of curiosity, to show how much quality material is being made from Iron Maiden covers. It’s not a comparison with you... in fact, you have a really awesome voice, with a very natural and unique tone, and you don’t need to imitate anyone!
Raphael, on the other hand, chose to specialize in that kind of interpretation, and he does it extremely well, no doubt. But I don’t think it’s advisable, nor even possible, for just anyone to follow that exact path (just like anyone else who tried to sing for as many days as Bruce did on the World Slavery Tour, they simply wouldn’t make it: they’d get sick and drop dead... Honestly, that was beyond human). What you have is unique (your own voice), and that’s exactly what makes the difference!

 

I understood and never took your comments as negative haha And even if it was, it's your right to like or dislike.
I just wanted to make that clear to anyone who might think I have any other attitude than humble towards the original bands that wrote anything I sing in my covers.
